My 3rd and last full day in Tokyo was spent wandering around the two most otaku places in Japan: Ikebukuro & Akihabara. My first stop was breakfast and this time I decided to hit up a favorite: Vie De France; at the Ikebukuro station.

I know, not the most healthiest breakfast, but it is filling and with all the walking I was doing, my body needed the carbs. And reality is, there just not a lot of places where I could get a single seat to eat other than cafes, fast food or ramen restaurants. Plus it is also affordable.

Here’s the problem, I kind of forgot to take pictures when I was out this day. I was so focus on getting to my destinations that I utterly forgot to take pictures. Plus, so of the manga shops I went into (yes, I wanted to go into those manga shops) didn’t really want you taking pictures inside, so I didn’t. The first place I went to in Ikebukuro was Sunshine City. A mall with the only Pokémon store. Or was it the biggest Pokémon store in Tokyo. I’m not really sure, but I wanted to check it out. It also had a Kiddie Land with tons of anime figures and toys. None that I really wanted buy.
Afterwards I walked to Animate. It’s a large, 8 or 9 story building filled with manga, drawing supplies and manga goodies. There is also a cafe, but it was quite crowded so I forgo getting a coffee there. I was so engross looking for my favorite manga goods that I didn’t take any pictures inside. Though I do remember one floor they had a sign specifically asking you not to take photos. I’m not sure if that was just for that one floor and for all…

After a long and nervous ride on one of the subway lines, I finally made it to Akihabara. There I checked out more manga shops, the neighborhood Animate store and ever wandered the several floors of Don Quijote. I did find some souvenirs at Don Quijote, but nothing like what I saw at Asakusa.

For a late lunch or early dinner, I finally got to a Coco Curry in Shibuya. Yup, like I said, I went back to Shibuya to see some of the other places I didn’t get to like Shibuya 109. I was so tempted to buy several shoes I saw there, but I resisted (however I did buy some in Seoul, but that’s for another post).
My flight the next day was pretty early. It was suppose to leave a to leave around 10:50 am and arrive in Seoul around 2:30 pm, but because of a storm hitting Korea, it got delayed by an hour. So I ended up with plenty of time to check in, get one last meal (ramen) and check out the stores.

So there was my three days in Toyko, I probably could have stayed another day, but I’m glad that I came back when I did, even if Seoul was a rainy hot mess at the time. I spent another two days up in Seoul relaxing and doing a bit of shopping when it finally stopped raining.
Till next time,
