Where I’ve Been

So, to be honest, I was just pretty tired of trying to write and post on my blog using only my iPad. I mean I love my iPad. I use it for a lot of things but writing and editing blog post was pretty hard since I’m quicker using a computer interface rather than the iPad. I’ve also been spending much more of my time on my YouTube channel. I’ve been filming and uploading at least once and month.

Since we are all in the same kind of situation at the moment: unable to travel, staying at home most of our days, not eating out nor visiting cafes, and other things due to the pandemic; I’m going to try being more focus on my online brand. That is in between my day job as an ESL teacher in South Korea. Especially nowadays where I have to film a lesson or two per week for my kids.

A lot of things have changed since I last posted which was just after I got back from visiting the USA. The pandemic hit South Korea pretty hard but I’m still thankful I’m here in a country that the government and the citizens (native and expats) are working hard to keep it manageable. There have been lots of up and downs, but even I can see that South Korea is doing much better than back at home. I spent nearly a month at home doing nothing since they delayed starting the new school year. Then when they did open again, it was all online. So that meant I was planning new lesson plans that could be filmed with homework. I never give my kids homework, but with online learning, there’s no way for me to know that they are listening and practicing unless I give them some Q&As to work on.

I’ve only left my city once since March. I went up to Seoul for a day to actually buy a laptop. Yup, I finally bought myself a MacBook Air. My only regret is that I didn’t spend more time exploring the area I was in before cases spiked up again after the three day holiday in August. We currently at a level 2 while Seoul and the surrounding areas are at a 2.5. It was suppose to end this week, but the government extended for another week as the number of cases hasn’t lessened.

I have rambled on for quite a bit. The main thing I wanted to say is that I’m going to try posting more here again. I’ve decided to work hard on my online presence and I’m thinking of starting an online shop. But that’s for another blog post. Things are going chance and I can feel it.

Until next time, jane*
