It’s cold here in South Korea. And since I live surrounding by mountains, it feel much more colder here than when I live in Washington along the coast. The first day it gets below 65, I start to get all my knitwear out of storage. This year with the move, I only had a handful of sweaters. I’ve ordered quite a bit for the winter weather. Mainly turtlenecks and cold weather jackets.
My clothing collection has been growing with each season. That includes my winter “teaching uniform.” It’s one of my favorite outfit to put on to look professional.

Black Skinny High-Waist Jeans
Skinny jeans have been a staple in my wardrobe since I could buy my own clothing. I find them very slimming for my body type and short height. Since they are black, they give off a professional look but are casual to wear all day. I really like wearing skinny jeans with different types of shoes to pull off different types of styles, but my favorite has to be with a pair of heeled boots. Long Black Car Coat
I don’t have a car here but I do love a good, comfortable car coat. And it’s the popular style along with the Chesterfield coat here in South Korea. At least every teacher I work with has two kinds: a black one and a camel colored one. The car coat is very slimming even if you are layering underneath. It’s thick fabric should keep you warm when walking while making you look professional. This one is made by Habitual and I ordered it when I first arrived here in South Korea. So I’m not sure if it’s still around, but here are a couple others just like it. I couldn’t find the coat online anymore, but this one is pretty similar.

Tan Knit Turtleneck
I only started wearing more turtlenecks last year. Actually, I think it was my first turtleneck I brought myself. I find that turtlenecks are quite nice. They keep your body warm while giving your a longer, more slimming upper body. And there is just something about that high neckline that I really like the look of. Again, another online purchase but this time I really have not idea what brand it is since I got it from a shop off of G-Market. However, this one from H&M is pretty similar.
Black Winter Boots
I have always been a boots like of gal. I had to leave my favorite boots back in the states. They are big, bulky and weight quite a bit. I thought when it started really getting cold here I could last with just my flat booties, but taking a look at my walking route, I decided otherwise. I like a little bit of a heel, so I went with these combat boots. Skinny jeans easily gets tucked in so when it rains or snows, my pants will remain dry. The zipper on the side always me to easily slip them off and off. This one from SODA is pretty similar to the one I have. They do have more sole height, but this very good.
Looking good no matter what you going always make you feel great. I like to dress somewhat business casual at my school. Main reason, students here talk and tell their parents how the foreign teacher looks today. Legit, if you are looking rough, by dinner that night all the parents know it.
What’s your favorite winter pieces you wear all the time?
Until next time…안녕히 가세요, jane*
