Recent Haul: Skincare and Haircare

The last couple of weekends I made a couple of purchases via trips to Olive Young and online at Coupang. Majority of them I have been loving and some I’m still quite on the fence about. Most, not all, are skincare products, so we are going to stick to them today. Some of these items are repurchases, so I won’t get to deep into them but others are completely new to my routine. Also, I originally had film this haul, but I ended up not liking it. So here it is instead:

I’ve been wanting to try this cream for a long time now. I’m a huge fan of Joan Kim, a vlogger in Seoul. So when she launched her cream last year, I’ve been trying to find it. Yes, it took me nearly a year to get one, but I did! These duo face cream set is great. They both go on very nicely and my skins absorbs them greatly. Each one has a light scent that is not overwhelming which I am grateful for. I really dislike products that the scent lasts longer than necessary. The day cream (mint green side) gives your skin a boost in the morning while the night cream (lavender) has a calming and cooling effect.

I’ve been switching between these two to see which one I like better as a cleanser. So far I’ve been reaching for the Hanskin Cleansing Foam & Blackhead more. Neogen Cleansing Foam is still very nice. The only thing I like about Hanskin is the scent. Neogen’s scent is mild but just not as pleasing. However I find that they both deeply clean and sooth my skin after a full day of wearing makeup. These are cleansers I use in my night routine as I use more gentle cleansers in the morning. They both foam up nicely and don’t leave any residue when rinsed off.

Gelato Factory Gel Nail Stickers

These are my favorite gel stickers I’ve found here in Korea. They work even far better than the ones in the states and they last far longer. Typically they last about a week and a half for me. They stick on very easily and have a lot of sizes inside each packaging to fit all your fingers.

Banila Co Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm

This is probably my 10th purchase of Banila Co Cleansing Balm. It is my favorite. I have tried some other ones, but they just don’t remove all my makeup like Banila Co and they don’t quite emulsify like it either. I think the only other one I like before Banila Co was Nooni. And I brought that back in the US.

Cell Fusion C Clear Sunscreen 100 in SPF 48/PA+++

I was originally going to buy the sunscreen I had been using for the last several months, but I decided to try a new brand this time around. Plus it was on sale and was highly recommended. I like this sunscreen despite the fact that it’s really not ‘clear.’ It might be clear on Korean skin, but on darker skin tone there is a white-cast. That just means I’ll stick with my sunscreen stick that does go on clear when I do not makeup days. Cell Fusion C goes on very smoothly and doesn’t feel heavy when its on my skin. It has a very nice light texture.
I brought two hair products: the Biosilk I got at Olive Young and the Misesen Scene I actually go from my local grocery store Personal Health section (but I know you can also find it at Olive Young and online). I use the Biosilk only on the days that I actually wash my hair. I do a at-home silk press (not very well mind you) and I needed something to help protect my hair during the drying and flat ironing steps. It does what it says and had a pleasant scent. The Misesen Mist I use in between wash days when I just need to add a bit of moisture (ie oil) to my hair. While my face is mostly oily, but scalp and hair is completely dry. So it needs a boost.
And that is my most recent haul from the last two weeks I believe. I didn’t leave my city this month, so there wasn’t any big Olive Young purchases like times I went up to Seoul.
What’s everyone been buying lately? Anything good? Let me know!!
Until next time…

안녕히 가세요, jane*
