Klook

So while planning my Toyko trip I needed to get some things ready like internet access and get myself an transportation card. I find the best way for me is to use Klook. It’s an online service where you a pre-order things like a international SIM card or Wifi Pod. You can also pre-order experiences and tours (which I haven’t tried yet) and train tickets and passes.

I used them to order (& renew) an international SIM card during my 1st month and a half here in Korea. It was really easy to order and they even have an APP for your phone.

For Japan, since I’m only going to be there for a couple of days but I need really good internet access, I went with the 4G WiFi (Japan Pick-Up) For Japan with Unlimited Data. It’s on LTE, can link up to 5 different devices and has a battery for 9 hours. As of when I’m writing this, it is going as $6.49 per day (per device). So in total for me, for 5 days, it about $40 bucks. I’m not too worried about the battery life, I just ordered a new portable battery and this guy is massive compared to my old one.

Since I did my research, I know that to get to my AirBNB from the Narita Airport I need to take the Tokyo Skyline first before transferring to the regular Subway. And I’ll be traveling to places via their regular subway lines. To do both, I would need to get a Skyliner Ticket and Suica IC Card. I had originally planned on just getting them when I got to Tokyo, but when I was searching Klook for experiences I saw that you can pre-order yourself the Skyliner Tickets and Suica IC Card. They have options for Airport Limousine and other ways to get to Central Tokyo, but I went with the Skyliner option because it would the simplest route to get to my AirBNB. Klook had a sale for a combo: Skyliner Ticket & Suica IC Card In Tokyo for only $29.35. It make me happy to know I don’t have to find all the places to get my tickets and Suica card. The Skyliner ticket have reserve seating waiting for me and the Suica card is pre-loaded with $15! Score!

So if you planning traveling anywhere, be it in Asia, Europe, South Africa, or even the USA, you can find some really good deals on Klook for transportation, experiences, and SIM/Wi-fi connection. It’s easy to order via on the App or through their webpage, and it’s just as easy to pickup at the airport kiosk! I highly recommend them!

However, they are not the only site that offer things like that. Trazy.com is also another site that offers deals on SIM cards, transportation cards and tickets, and even concert tour. I recently saw one about going on a coffee tour before heading over to watch a KPop concert staring Red Velvet. I wanted to go, but I had already spent money for a Busan trip.

So if you are coming to Korea as a tourist or as a future English teacher, I do recommend you pre-order your SIM card to work with your phone. That way you don’t have to worry about finding a cafe to use their Wi-Fi
