Korea is know for it’s high-quality and wide variety of skin care products, so I made the decision to just bring enough products that will last me at least two week. I only packed travel sized skincare products but brought along my all of full size makeup like eyeshadow and eyeliner. The one product I did bring more than one was foundation. It’s highly recommended that you bring a several containers of foundation if you are darker than the average Korean. So I brought five different bottles with me since I’m a lighter shade during the winter than in the summer. That doesn’t mean you won’t be able to get a darker shade while here. You just have to order it off of Sephora or Fenty websites and have it delivered to your home in Korea.

In the last month since I’ve moved into my officetel here in Korea (future post I promise), I’ve gotten some items I’ve wanted to try and needed. My first full weekend, I walked over to the other side to my neighborhood where all the major stores are at and hit up Olive Young. It’s smaller than the one I went to in Seoul a couple of weeks later, but still a good store to have physically nearby. There I got the Neogen Dermalogy Bio-Peel in Green Tea, Nexcare Blemish Clear Cover and CosRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser. All three were on my “to try” list and came highly recommended by several YouTubers I watch. I know for a fact that Joan Kim (here) is a big fan of Neogen and CosRX products. I really like both of them. The Bio-Peel is great. Not too harsh and makes my skin feels soft afterwards. I only use it about once or twice a week. The cleanser is also great. I actually use it in the morning and at night as part of my cleansing routine.

The second weekend in March, I traveled up to Seoul with a couple of friends I made during EPIK Orientation. We walked around Myeongdong and while we were there I asked to stop in Innisfree and Olive Young. At Innisfree I got the Green Tea Seed Serum. It came in a gift set that included a Minion cup and figurine. It was the same prices as just getting the serum, so I went with the gift set. At Olive Young, I really needed to get some makeup remover. So one of the clerks recommended I get Dr. Jart+ Mircro Water. It also came in a set, one big bottle and travel size container. I typically use this to remove my eye makeup. It’s not harsh and actually does a great job taking off my eye makeup including waterproof mascara.

Right before the end of the month, I finally reach the end of my eyebrow pencil, so I made a point to research a bit and decided to try some Missha makeup. The Missha store is just a half block away from the Olive Young in my neighborhood. In the store, they had several different kinds of brow pencils, but I decided on the Perfect Eyebrow Styler since it was the only other one that came in a dark, almost black, shade. While I was there I also picked up a couple nail polishes so I could do my nails.

And then my recent purchases. I really needed some lotion and sun block, so back to Olive Young I went. I got the Aveeno Daily Moisturizing lotion, Foot mask (I forgot to take a picture of it before using it yesterday) and Dr.G Brightening Up Sun Block. Since these are recent purchases I don’t have much to say about them yet. The foot mask is similar to one I used back in the USA. It’s suppose to allow the dead skin to pull away in a layer in about 7 days. The one in the USA worked great, so I’m hoping that the Korean one works ever better. My feet have been very dry lately.

And the sunblock, I’ve only used once so far (today), but it went on smoothly and my skin felt soft afterwards. It didn’t have a sticky feel like the American ones I’ve used before. Nor does it feel like it’s just another layer on top of my skin. It just kind of melted into it.
